Thank you for honoring them. My generation was more fortunate than many. Our young men, for the most part, had a choice of to join or not. It was at the end of the draft and decisions still were being made, what to do should your number be called. Fortunately many did not have to make those decisions. Some chose to serve whether called or not. All who made the sacrifice for us deserve our appreciation forever.
We didn't have the best day….and I hate we missed the parade. Birmingham hosts one of the nation's largest Veterans' Day parades. We had planned to go before Shelley got sick.
