Did you ever hear of a ................???

 -sigh-
Did you ever hear of a stove door window, simply cracking and blowing out, all of a sudden?  No, the stove wasn't turned on.   No one was near it, thankfully.

Yesterday afternoon, my 13 year old Grandson, tapped on the patio door.  I let him in and he said.....  The above had happened!  He was simply in the family room and heard the noise.  He thought the cats had broken something.  But no!  The cats were on the screened in porch.

The rest of the family was hither and yon.  He had called his mom.  She told him to go over (next door) to Nana/Pop's house.  Which he did.

As luck would have it, "Pop" was working also, but he told me to call the Gas Co.  Which I did.  Family began arriving home.  The Gas Co. came and checked everything.

Needless to say, we were all pretty "frazzzzzzzled," by the time the whole episode was over, and cleaned up.

I checked on the Net, and such things have occurred...

-shuddddder-

Did you ever hear of this happening?

Hi Tessa, my name is Sylvia and I just found you on delights of the heart. I love your blog post and am going to follow it. No, I've never heard of an oven door blowing out like that before, but I sure will be careful from now on.

Hello Tessa!
Have you had any thunderstorms lately? I am just asking since we have a very fierce one and some lightning struck nearby when I was cooking, and my hand received a mighty shock! My Dad said that lightning can come into your stove, during a thunderstorm. I am not sure if this could have anything to do with your stove window blowing out, but perhaps it could?
Hey, I am no Sherlock Holmes but I find all of life very curious!

Oh dear! I have not heard of this either. Glad no one was hurt.
Thanks for your comments on my blog. I love that you like the vintage fabric remade into children's clothes. It reminded me to post another post soon on my love of children's vintage clothes. I will try to get it done next week.
