Saying good-bye to August...

The Cosmos are still happily blooming away!

The Black Eyed Susans have come into their own.  Somehow, it just seems to be the "right time" for their happy-happy-happy faces.

Cute bubble lights string, in an add...  Oh I know, it's not Halloween Time yet.  I know.  I know.  But aren't they cute?

Saturday musings...

So far this summer, I've been reading "Cozy" after "Cozy" after "Cozy."  So for a change, I got this lovely coffee-table-type book ("Summers In France") out of the library.  And the delightful sounding "The Children Of Noisy Village."

The "Summer"... one is full of dreamy pictures, from the author's nearly 20 years of spending her summers in France...  In the French farm, which she completely re-did...  With her family...  And with "hundreds" of her friends.  Not kidding with the "hundreds."  She entertains in a big way!

The house and area provide all, with a lovely setting.  Friends can go/do what they choose, during the days.  But all gather around her table, for evening meals.  Always...

I'm sure I'm very late, in coming across these "Children Of Noisy Village" books.  I know Pippy Longstockings, but not these books by Astrid Lindgren.

Out the window over the kitchen sink.  It's been too cool at night, to let the heat stay in the pool.  Extended family members don't want to go in it, when the water isn't warm enough.  Not even my husband wants to go in it, when the water gets cool and the temps are cool-ish too.

So, me-thinks the pool will be closed early, this year.

It's been cool enough, especially at night, to start thinking of Autumn.  Noticing the shadows of ambiance lighting (above), kind of goes with Autumnal thoughts...  :-)  ~~~~~~  Evening shadows...  Magical...  Looking as if they had been painted by the Fey...   :-))))

But the Cosmos are still so pretty, in the sun.  And I'm not pushing toward Autumn.  ~~~~~~  I love, love, love that Season.  But I never want to hurry the Changing of the Seasons...  I don't wish to hurry the turning of the Wheel of the Year.

Soft, whispy, fluttering.......

Late afternoon sun, shining on the Cosmos...  Their greenery looks so wispy and soft...  You can almost see a faerie or two, fluttering among the wisps...

Pictures like these (in 'Romantic Homes' magazine) make we want to get another sewing machine...   Many years ago, I had one.  And had fun, making Jiffy Patterns, etc.

Then, about 3 years ago, I had use of one, which we gave to a Granddaughter.   For awhile.  I did (very little) pillow covering sewing.  Perhaps it's time to get my own, again...

My-always-worry....  Will I use it, after I get it?  I tend to be like a moth...  Seeing this pretty-shiny-new-project...  And that pretty-shiny-new-project...   Flying around it and sampling it...  Then, leaving it.  -sigh-

Love the whimsy of these chairs, in our new (independent) book store in town.  Love them!   Had to take a pic of them, as well as sit in them.  Love them!!!

Reading!  That's one "love" which I don't abandon.  But, being older, I use our Library System for most reading.  At this time of life, it's "get-rid-of-extra-things-time".  Not "time-to-bring-more-things-into-our-home".

Another "photo-which-says-Summer"!  :-)  The softness of it.  The quiet of Summer afternoons.  The gentle warmth and the hum of bees and flying insects.  The lushness of it.

Summer... Summer... Summer...

Local fruits of Summer...  Jewels in the morning...  Sparkling sweetness...

Summer afternoon...  Summer afternoon...  Not the English one, of Henry James...  But ours is lovely too.  So, so, so lovely.

Sun dappled freshly cut grass, and patio...  Old Adirondack chairs beckoning, to come sit a while...  Rest...  Enjoy...  Peaceful time...

The pot on the front step...  Carrying on my Patriotic Summer Theme, this year.  This is our second planting here.  Earlier beautiful Begonias were water-logged and rotted by all the rain.  (And by a not well draining pot...  Sigh...)

Went for a morning walk, by the "Forest Primeval", as I love to call it.  We are so lucky to have these lovely woods, near by...  Why don't I walk, every morning?  Good question.  I used to do so...

Perhaps this perfect morning's walk, will be the start of a new pattern.

I hope...  I hope...  I hope...
