"Yes Gabriel, there will be a little train, around "Pop's" Christmas Tree..."

We seem to have the perfect Holiday Time Snow.
Just enough to cover a bit.
But not so much, to disrupt much.  And since it's stayed c-o-l-d, what little we got, has stayed.  Making a pretty cover...  I really love to have a bit of snow cover, at Christmas/Yule time.

Today is hair trim day.  I think I will "abandon" the Pixie cut, and go all the way (back) to the Judi Dench cut.  ,-)  But if I do, I must wear it with Attitude.  -chuckle-  I've done it before.  I can do it again!
Remember "Elves With Attitude" from "The Santa Clause" movie?
("We're your worst nightmare, Elves With Attitude.")
Or, if you prefer, you can think of...
...THIS Elf With Attitude.  -giggggles-

"There is no ideal Christmas; only the one Christmas you decide to make as a reflection of your values, desires, affections, traditions."  ~Bill McKibben

Photo Phunnnnn....  Trying to get pics of faerie lights, which appear diffused and fuzzy.

Guess what?  There will be a toy train, around the Christmas tree!  We got another one.  After all...  When one is 80, they should have a working toy train...  To share with their 3 year old GrandSon, next door.  :-))))))

More kind-of-diffused light from faerie lights...

"...the French plums blushed in modest tartness..."

Susan Branch knows "WHIMSEY."  :-)  I took photos of pages, from my copy of her "Christmas From The Heart Of The Home."  Susan knows whimsey.  !!!!!!!

And of course, everyone knows she is a very, very, very talented artist.  Not only with her art-itself, but with personally writing, all the copy in her books.

-happy sigh-

My husband is making me Gluten Free Stuffin'...

...to cook in the chicken, we got at the Healthy Living Store.

He always stuffs our family dinner holiday turkeys, with his special stuffin'.  But since it uses regular bread crumbs, I can't eat it.  -moan-  Soooo, he is making me G/F Stuffin'!!!!!!!!!

And I will be making him, a Mincemeat Pie with my home made crust.  :-)))  Which he loves.

-chuckle-  Did you notice my "painted nails"???  ,-)  Rarely do I put nail polish on.  Once in a while, I get the urge.  Since I've never had a manicure in my life, when I do it, I am the one who has to do it.  And I am the one who has to remove it, when it gets chipped and messy.  -moan-

But last evening, I got out all my from-over-the-years bottles of nail polish.  Selected one named "Merlot" and added a thick coat of "SpArKleS" on top.  Obviously, my pic is all-messed-up, from cropping.  But...  That's what I did.  -grin-

Blogging theme questions...

Searching again, for blogs which love/display magical thinking and whimsey and faeries, etc.  Really the only one I have found, which balances out all these things...  Is Cielo's.  I first found her "The House In The Roses" blog, and loved it.  She has moved and now writes in "The Here And Now" blog.

Faerie lights

Her way of blogging is the best example, of this.  And hers, seems to be about the only example of what I love.  -sigh-  Am I the only one, who just loves her blog(s)?

No, because people comment in her blogs.  But does anyone else, want to write/picture a blog, in a (somewhat) similar way?

Yes, I do.  But I'm not nearly so talented.    I try.  Without anywhere near her success.  But, I do try.

Are there others out there, like me?  Who love these aspects of blogging?  And if so, why haven't I found them?

Are there any others, who would love to even try, but don't?

Dec. 2nd... Some old... Some new...

I so loved some of these Christmas Holiday store displays, downtown...  That I use these photos, again and again.  (Sorry, to anyone who has seen them before...  -grin-)  I really have to take photos of downtown, this Season...

These first two pics are of a down street toy store, called "Geewillikers"...   (And it's an example of taking a photo, with lots of reflections, caught in the glass.   I love this kind of pic.!)

This toy store decorates beautifully, all year long.  But at Christmas Time, they go-all-out, naturally.  This is where one goes, to get old fashioned toys.  Not the latest flashing-plastic-whirrrring-monstrosity.  -grin-

Doll houses, and theaters, and knights/castles, and cuddly toys, and dolls-dolls-dolls, and, and, and....   :-))))

And this was a toy train, set up in a liquor store window display.  Reminded us of the toy train, which my husband has set up around/under our little Christmas Tree, for a few years now.  Our youngest "Grand" lives next door, and he loves to come over and watch the train...

He has been content to flop-down on the floor and just watch, watch, watch the train go "round and round and round."  He's 3 1/2 this year.  Hope he still doesn't want to disrupt it.  Nope!  He will not get away with that!  Just hope he is still calm enough, to watch it.

It sort of "disappears," when it goes around behind the tree table, so that makes it a bit more interesting....  :-)

More of those delightful old fashioned illustrations!

We know that life was harder, back then.  We know that illustrations show an idealized version of life back then.  But still, they call to us and draw us in and make us kind of wish that we could have experienced that olden life...  Aren't we humans, funny?!?  :-))))

Frost ... Last harvest ... Yarn ... Etc.

Down into the 20's last night.  (Sun. night to Mon. morning)  The 'Frost Faeries' did the little Bird Bath Fountain.

But I think 'Jack Frost' himself, painted my neighbor's garage roof.   That looks like it was done, in too broad brush strokes, for wee little Faeries.  :-)))

Chippy must have his nest ready and waiting for him.

A typical sight, from all the rainy weather, we were having, last week.  Happily, it seems to have gone away.  This morning..  (Mon. morning)   the barometer can't hardly go any higher!!!

My mother sewed beautifully.  I sewed a little.  Never knitted though.  ..........  My mother-in-law was a fantastic knitter.  She taught our daughter to knit, when she was 7 years old.  And she never forgot. ..........  She knits, knits, knits...  And spins her own yarn.  And even does lace.

I finally asked her  (my daughter)  to teach me...  She was kind of amazed!  Brought me over  (she lives just 2 doors over...) some yarn and needles, and taught me.  I poked away at it.  Yesterday we went to a local yarn shop and I picked out a pretty color yarn and bigger needles.  :-)))))

This picture was taken of my "goodies," on my favorite chair.  See the colors?  You can see my color preference.  :-))))

Another example of our now gone, rainnnnnny weather.

Sat., son next door, was cleaning out their gardens...  The 2 smallest "Grands" brought over some fresh-picked-carrots.  :-)

Our 15 year old Granddaughter, will not eat candy.  She is concerned about what she puts into her body.  She loves volleyball, goes to the gym with her aunt, and I think that is soooo dedicated and wonderful.

And she is still a "girly-girl", with a cute boyfriend!!!  :-)

The 'Frost Faeries' passed by...

This morning (Tues.) the barometer is all the way up in Fair.  It's been rising and rising, and clear sky last night....

So yesterday, I took some photos of the flowers, which were still blooming........

And this morning, this is what greeted me...

Poor fallen Cosmos...

And a fuzzy pic of frost...  Yes, the Frost Faeries were about last night.

But in photos, we still have memories of wee little Moss Roses, hanging-on until the last...

But inside, the little "Ghost House" is happy still.

"The Ghost House" is the favorite, of our 3 year old next-door Grandson.  It's mine tooooo, and has been, for years and years.  He also loves the "Candy Corn" lights.  :-)
Since he's too heavy for me to lift up, to see the mantle up-close, I took down each "Happy Witch" at a time, and showed them to him.  No ugly, icky, mad, not cute Witches in 'Nana's' decorations.  Only cute ones!!!
