Do you sometimes, get a "feeling"...?

(First icicle, the other morning...)

But it's a lazy snow, that's falling this morning (Wed.).  The kind of snow, that you hardly notice, against the grayness and snowy-cover of the early day.  Then, it's pace seems to pick up.  No longer do the flakes seem to fall in slow motion.  Now, they have work to do!  Laying another blanket on the cold earth.
~~~~~~~~
This package!  It took me 15 minutes to wrap.  Too long, of course.  Why this long?  Because I was trying to wrap it so skilfully, to save paper.  Hahhhhh....
~~~~~~~~

You know how that goes!
~~~~~~~~
A waste of time.  More time spent, actually.  More paper used, also...  -moan-  ,-))))
~~~~~~~~

 Silly me...

Did you ever get "a feeling"?  That you should look into something, perhaps?  The other night, I got the "feeling" that I should visit a blog, which I have followed, off and on, for years and years.  I visited and found that there were bits-and-pieces of 'different.'  So glad I listened to, and followed that "feeling."

Snow comin'~~~"Party-Party"~~~Old Times

Saturday Night
nt_snow Snow likely. Low 16F. Winds ENE at 10 to 15 mph. 8 to 12 inches of snow expected.

So, that's our weather forecast for Sat. night.  Looks like the Snow Faeries will really be active tonight.  :-))

(Btw, I really don't like "blinging pics," but it is kind-of appropriate, for this post.)

Our Christmas parties duties are over now.  We only had 2 actually.  We were never in the *Social Circuit,*  even when younger.  Now it's just a work party and a Rotary Club party, to attend.

Slow blogging inspiration day today...  So I give you another picture, from a Vintage Blog, I found, while looking for these pic.

These pics are from the '50's and of course, I lived the 50's.  -grin-   The blog author says;
"...... I loved the picture ...... because it has so many awesome things to look at.
1. The decor. 2. The hairstyles on the woman..awesome 3. The nothing but Tinsel Christmas Tree (love!). 4. The very stylish ties on the men."

And I add, look at the lazy-susan coffee table...  The fan over the doorway...  The curtains...  And are those Christmas cards, hung over the doors?  Remember stringing Christmas cards up, hither-and-yon, at the Holidays?  I do!  :-)

This and that... On Dec. 8th...

Have you ever made Mincemeat Tarts?  I make Mincemeat Pie for my husband.  But would like to try Tarts, sometime...  They look so cute.

The weather report missed, for Fri. night.  They said we could get 1-3 inches of snow.  Nope.  Just a little.  And it's all gone, by (Sat.) afternoon.

My 2014 calendar came...  That was a good thing, today.

and never better than at Christmas."

But my husband's little toy train set, will not be up, this Season.  He has tried everything, and he can not get it to work.  Soooooooo....   Out it goes.  And he is kind of "bumbed out."  :-)  It was so cute.  Little "Grandson" next door, used to love watching it.  Etc.

But since it won't work...  And since we have to get the ding-dang-tree up, we have to "step back and punt."

Below...

NOT, NOT, NOT my house!!!

This picture is from "Between Naps On The Porch" blog.  As my click-able Source link above, says.

I posted it, because it is soooooo gorgeous.  Oh sigh.  Oh my.  Oh sigh.  :-))))

Of course, there are so many simply breath-taking interior photos on the Net, this Holiday Season.  :-)

Blogging theme questions...

Searching again, for blogs which love/display magical thinking and whimsey and faeries, etc.  Really the only one I have found, which balances out all these things...  Is Cielo's.  I first found her "The House In The Roses" blog, and loved it.  She has moved and now writes in "The Here And Now" blog.

Faerie lights

 Her way of blogging is the best example, of this.  And hers, seems to be about the only example of what I love.  -sigh-  Am I the only one, who just loves her blog(s)?

No, because people comment in her blogs.  But does anyone else, want to write/picture a blog, in a (somewhat) similar way?

Yes, I do.  But I'm not nearly so talented.    I try.  Without anywhere near her success.  But, I do try.

Are there others out there, like me?  Who love these aspects of blogging?  And if so, why haven't I found them?

 Are there any others, who would love to even try, but don't?

Old fashioned~Pretty~~~~~And Spoiler Alert~

Isn't that lovely?  It's called "The Lady Of The Snows" by George Henry Boughton.   It is the cover art, on the latest 'Victorian Trading Co.' catalog.  They know how to gently get someone "in the mood" of the Season.  :-)

  I say "gently," because they simply display beautiful items.  Mostly old fashioned looking items.  Not the glitzy need-batteries-items, which are everywhere else.

And I'm taking these fun, old, Christmas themed CD's out of the library, before they become in demand.  :-)

Just, a link...

Today, I don't have a *real* post.

I simply say that I added to my Page of "Sometimes I Write"...

Continuing yesterday's musings, on The Holiday Season and Celebration.

A hint...  Today I search for OUR personal choice of the perfect Holiday Season and Celebration.

Book...Decorating...Question...

Another delightfully illustrated book, by Elsa Bedskow.  Oh these drawings make me want to draw some, just like them...  Myself.

My Header (the silhouette) is from inside this book..

I finally finished decorating my mantel.  And a good thing that is.  It's close to Thanksgiving.  And when it gets close to a holiday, I get *antsy* to change decorations.

-grin-  My bad.  I know.  Don't rush the Seasons.  Don't rush seasonal decorating.  Do not rush the Turning of the Wheel of the Year.  It turns fast enough, as is.  Or seems to....

Where are you, on this matter?  Content to stay in the current holiday mode, until it is over?  Get *fidgetty* to change decorations, early?  Or maybe, the very opposite....  Tend to be *later* than *everyone* else, with your holiday decorating?

There are no wrong answers.  We each do, what we do, and that's fine.

And I actually put something up on my Page of "Sometimes I Write."
 For if you have the time and inclination.  We are all busy, I know.

Apple Pie!!! All for my husband!!! :-)

Made him, his Apple Pie.  He is a "Happy Camper."  :-)

 Not long now, till "Over The River And Through The Woods..." time.

Yes, I'm rather rushing things.  But still, there are only about 3 more weeks, to have fun with Thanksgiving decorations.  :-)

(And don't you just love primitive paintings, like the one above?
 They make you want to pop right into them...)

In '99 we spent 8 wonderful days in Paris.  My only regret, is not going into...

"Shakespeare And Company."

 We walked by, and did not enter.   Because  I was in a hurry to get to...

"Darius'" church, from "Highlander, The Series"...  Which I did go into, though...

"From the first season onward, the 13th century Church of St. Julien le Pauvre in Paris was a shooting location for Highlander: the Series, which ran for six seasons.......... Located on the Left Bank of the Seine in the Latin Quarter, St. Julien sits across the river from Notre Dame in a little park called the Square René Viviani.........The church made its television debut in the pivotal Season One episode Band of Brothers, which also introduced Duncan MacLeod's friend and mentor Darius, a 2000-year-old Immortal priest with an unusual past."

 Does anyone remember watching "Highlander, The Series"?  And the character of 'Darius'???????

Anyone?

Anyone?
